2. IS SOMEONE AVAILABLE TO ADVISE ME?

LAB5′s studio staff is available morning, afternoon and early evening during the week and mornings on the weekends. Instructors are available 10 minutes before and after class. 3. WHERE DO I START?

Depending on your current fitness level, 93% of new members do just fine in their first class. The workouts can be intense depending on the class, therefore, we encourage you to choose an initial class that best fits your comfort zone. If you have chronic back pain, painful joints, a severe medical condition or just want individual attention, it is recommended to take a private session first to assess your fitness level.

4. WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM PILATES?

Pilates is for all ages. It can be modified to your current fitness level and goals by selecting the proper class to start.

6. DO I NEED TO ARRIVE EARLY FOR MY FIRST CLASS?

Yes. Please arrive at least fifteen (15) minutes before class to fill out the necessary paperwork and allow the instructor or staff to get you acquainted with the Reformer or other equipment.

7. WHERE CAN I PARK?

A. Mercer & Broadway: Diamond Pay Lot

B. Neighborhood Parking (East & West of Broadway): Zoned parking; 2 hours max 7am-8pm (Monday-Saturday), Free on Sundays & Holidays

C. City-Street Parking: Free parking 6-8am Monday-Saturday, Free on Sundays & Holidays

D. Public Parking in QFC garage

E. Public Parking in Joule building10th Ave.

F. (Between Mercer & Roy): Diamond Pay Lot

G. 10th Ave. (North of Roy): Mixed street parking; 2 hour maximum/NO PARKING RESTRICTIONS

8. HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR CLASS?

A. Members are required to wear socks on the Reformer. We recommend Toesox with grips that can be purchased at the front desk.

B. Please bring a gym towel.

C. Please bring water and stay hydrated. Your body and skin will thank you. Chilled water is available for purchase at the front desk.

D. Dress in fitness-like clothes that are comfortable and allow movement.

E. Because jewelry can catch in the Reformer springs and cause personal injury we strongly encourage items be removed prior to class. Members wearing jewelry when using any piece of studio equipment do so at their own risk.

F. Please store cell phones in cubbies during classes either silenced or off.

G. Keep perfumes to a minimum. Some members have allergies and may be sensitive to smells.

H. Hair ties are necessary to manage long hair.

I. Most importantly, bring a positive attitude and be prepared to explore the benefits of the Pilates based training and the benefits this incredible method offers.

9. HOW OFTEN SHOULD I ATTEND TO GET THE BEST RESULTS?

Attending three times a week is highly recommended. Whether recovering from injury, improving sports performance, or looking for a program to increase strength and flexibility, our instructors design workouts of varied intensity to the meet the goals of every LAB5 Member.

While many conventional or traditional workouts involve weight bearing exercises and tend to build short, bulky muscles prone to injury, our well balanced programming promotes quality of movement over quantity of repetitions. LAB5 professional staff can assist you in choosing classes that meet your specific needs and provide modifications during your workout. Be sure to listen to your body and plan for rest in your schedule, especially when engaged in vigorous exercise routines – despite how much you may enjoy exploring your limits.

10. WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS PRACTCING PILATES?

“In 10 sessions you will feel a difference, in 20 sessions you will see a difference, and in 30 sessions you will have a whole new body.” – Joseph Pilates

If you lose more than 10 pounds or 2 clothing sizes the first month you may be getting results to rapidly and need to reduce the intensity or number of workouts. Listen to your body.

11. DO YOU OFFER A GUARANTEE?

Try all LAB5 Fitness Classes for 30 days at no risk. If, for any reason, our classes do not meet your expectations after attending 3 or more classes a week for 30 days and trying all workouts, simply ask for a full refund of the purchase price – no explanation needed.

12. WILL I LOSE WEIGHT?

Pilates can be a positive addition to your overall weight loss program. Weight loss occurs when the number of calories consumed is less than the number of calories expended. The most successful and healthy way to achieve weight loss is an exercise plan that includes an aerobic component coupled with a strength training component, such as Pilates exercise, and following a balanced diet.

13. ARE PURCHASES REFUNDABLE OR SERVICES TRANSFERABLE?

Sorry. All purchases are final and services non-transferable. Some membership passes require signing a auto-payment contract. Members are advised to carefully review all terms and policies before before signing.

14. WHAT IF I CAN’T COME TO CLASS AFTER SIGNING UP? WILL I BE CHARGED?

A. Signing up is important & we recommend reserving a space in class–though it is not required.

B. To encourage accountability when using our reservation system,  members will be charged a penalty for missing class. Classes fill up, please only reserve a spot if you can attend.

C. We require at least 12 hours notice to change your schedule without penalty.

D. Classes changed within the 12 hour window are considered a ‘Late Cancel’ (please see Policies & Terms tab for more details)

E. LATE TO LAB5: A registered member cannot join class ten minutes after the scheduled start time. New members, MUST arrive 15min EARLY regardless. There are no exceptions, sorry.

15. IS MY PACKAGE ON AUTO-PAY AND AUTO-RENEWAL? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

The monthly passes are 12-month auto-pays that charge your monthly dues to the credit card on file, and also automatically renew the contract upon expiration. Successful auto-payment processing using either ACH or a credit card on file, automatically renews a members’ monthly pass. Members may sign-in to their Mind Body account at any time to cancel auto-payment arrangements.  If members need the assistance of LAB5Fitness personnel to cancel a current auto-payment schedule, ten days written notice is required.

16. MAY I FREEZE MY MEMEBERSHIP DUE TO INJURY OR VACATION?

With the exception of injury, account suspensions are not granted. You are able to cancel your Auto-Payments at any time and rejoin by selecting any of our current plans.

17. DOES LAB5 OFFER ANY ADDED INCENTIVES?

Yes! The Platinum Club encourages, promotes and rewards members who attend regular workouts at LAB5 by providing a quarterly event. Members enjoy a fun filled evening with peers designed to build collegial spirit and enhance relationships within our community.

To qualify members need to attend 60 classes for the current quarter or 20 classes the last month of the quarter to earn an invitation for yourself and one guest. A party along with beverages and delightful food is hosted by the Cashman’s, LAB5 Founders, from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm on the date of the event either the third or fourth Sunday following the end of the quarter. The exact date is noted at the beginning of each quarter.

18. HOW CAN LAB5 HELP KEEP ME MOTIVATED?
